i just recently was given a polaroid camera as a gift, so you'll probably see more of that as summer progresses. I've had it for the past few days and I have never been more afraid to take a picture in my life. i use mostly digital, so film has never really been an issue. ever. i've really been anticipating using the polaroid but i'm afraid of wasting the film on something .. meaningless. this is something i thought i really shouldn't be afraid of. i shouldn't be afraid of taking chances but my fear of a bad picture is paralizing. this film is basically on its way to extinction AND i have until september to use it?! i guess the root of my dilemma has been my subject matter. my photos need authentic moments to support them.

the next few weeks I'll be trying something different. i'll be focusing more on the subject and concepts behind my photographs. more pictures of quiet moments, simple pleasures, cheap thrills, people i love, what i find beautiful. initially, what moves me. i may or may not share what the photo means; i guess we'll see. i'll be leaving my canon at home for a while and i've made a spot in my car for the polaroid. just for a bit. i'll take my canon out when needed, but if you see more polaroids, this is why. just taking a break for a bit from the canon.

finally, thank you sooo much everyone for all your feedback and comments. it's greatly appreciated, and i do check out your galleries when i've got time. i guess i'll work on giving more feedback as well. ;]
